One notebook, three apps, zero chaos

Most students use 12 tools and trust none of them. The fix isn't a fancier app — it's fewer tools, used clearly. Here's the setup that survives.

01

ONE notebook for thinking

A single physical notebook. Class notes, meeting notes, ideas. Date every page. Don't switch notebooks mid-semester.

02

Calendar app for time

Google Calendar / Apple Calendar. Every class, deadline, gym session, and reset block goes here. If it's not on the calendar, it doesn't exist.

03

Tasks app for actions

One simple list (Apple Reminders, Things, or even The Reset Route's planner). Tasks have a date. No date = no commitment.

04

Notes app for reference

One reference vault (Notion, Apple Notes, Obsidian). Rubrics, syllabi, study guides. Searchable, never edited in class.

05

Weekly merge ritual

Sunday 15 min: pull anything from the notebook into the calendar/tasks/notes. The notebook gets emptied weekly.

In practice

  • In class → notebook (page-dated)
  • Deadline mentioned → straight to calendar
  • Action item → tasks app, with a date
  • Reference (rubric, study guide) → notes app
