You don't need a candle-lit, journal-filled, face-mask-and-tea Sunday. You need four small things, in order. Forty minutes total. Mondays stop feeling like ambushes.
Shower — wash the week off
A longer-than-usual shower, on purpose. Warm water, slow rinse. This is the punctuation mark between weeks.
Soup — eat something warm and simple
Soup, dahl, congee, miso. Warm food signals to your nervous system that the day is winding down. Don't overthink it.
Sheets — fresh pillowcase minimum
Full sheet change if you have time. A pillowcase swap if you don't. The cost-to-comfort ratio is the highest in the apartment.
Sleep — lights down by 22:30
Phone charging in another room. One chapter of something you like. Lights out by 22:30, even if you're not tired yet.
Skip the 'Sunday productivity'
Sunday is not for catch-up. If the week ahead is brutal, do 15 minutes of planning, max. The rest is rest.
